The Cometic gaskets are made from different high grade materials. Depending on their application, they can be made from stainless steel (multi-layer head gaskets), aramid fiber, copper, rubber or nitrile (without asbestos). Extremely resistant to fuels, oils and coolants, they can withstand high temperatures and high pressures, and potential shearing brought on by powerful engine upgrades and intense use.
